Abstract This collection documents the career of Dr. Takeo Kanade, the U.A. and Helen Whitaker Professor at Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science. Kanade joined the faculty of CMU in 1980, and later served as director of The Robotics Institute from 1992 to 2001. His research areas include autonomous robots, computer vision, medical robotics, among other topics. Overview

The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University was established in 1979 to conduct basic and applied research in robotics technologies relevant to industrial and societal tasks. The Robotics Institute Collection consists of materials related to the history of the Institute and some of the research conducted there.
