Erwin R. Steinberg Papers contain correspondence, course syllabi, research materials, articles, and manuscripts documenting to Steinberg’s tenure as a professor of English, Vice Provost, and Dean at Carnegie Mellon University during the years 1948-2005.

Earle Swank worked at Carnegie Mellon University for 40 years, starting as an English professor and retiring after serving 20 years as Dean of Student Affairs. As Dean of Student Affairs, he saw the University through the socially turbulent 60s and 70s. Most of the collection is related to specific exhibitions and performances, and includes printouts of electronic messages and images, faxes, videotape, audiotape, photographic material, catalogs, as well as correspondence, publications, and theses.
