Nancy H. Cole, a renowned puppeteer, graduated from Carnegie Mellon’s School of drama with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She went onto receive her Masters of Arts degree at Stanford University. Cole directed many plays for the Puppet Studio Theater (PST) including an adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Tempest”, and “The Emperor’s Nightingale”. She taught puppetry for New York University’s Education Theater Program and served as director of Middle School Drama at the Spence School in New York City. Cole is also involved in the Puppeteers of America organization and taught a summer puppetry program for the American Conservatory Theater.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

These materials were donated by Nancy Cole for use in the 75th Anniversary School of Drama Exhibit..The Nancy H. Cole papers were originally maintained by the archives as part of the School of Drama records until the material was seperated in 2014 to form its own collection.
