This series consists of photographs related to student life. It covers many Carnegie Mellon traditions, including the Beaux-Art Ball, Buggy races, Spring Carnival, and the Kiltie Band. I also includes photographs of student organizations (including the Scotch n Soda Theatre), fraternities and sororities, student protests, student publications, and commencement. The contents are arranged alphabetically by subject.

The People Series includes photographs of named individuals related to Carnegie Mellon University -- including presidents, trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, benefactors, honorary degree recipients, and visitors. The series also contains portraits of unidentified individuals, identified group photographs not belonging to a particular department or office, and unidentified groups. The contents of the series are arranged alphabetically by the individual's surname.

This series consists of photographs related to the University’s academic and research programs, including photographs of classes and seminars, labwork, equipment, group photographs, departmental events. The material is arranged alphabetically by school or program.
